A brief history of Rodan and Fields:

The UNBLEMISH Regimen

   It is recommended to use UNBLEMISH if you are    experiencing acne, cystic acne, irritated skin,     blemishes and acne scarring.

Step 1: Cleansing Sulfur Wash

Your Sulfur Wash will unclog pores and reduce the appearance of any redness. The product has chamomile and aloe vera to help calm the skin.  
* Tip: I didn’t realize how fast the wash came out (very creamy) so I probably ended up using 4 uses in one! Squeeze gently! The wash will definitely go along way and is okay to use on neck and shoulders too!

Step 2: Clarifying Toner

Your Clarifying Toner will continue to reduce the redness and any irritation, refine the pores, calm the skin and exfoliate dead skin with alphahydroxy acids. The toner is also alcohol free so it’s not as harsh as other toners on the market.

Step 3: Dual Chamber Intensive Acne Treatment
Your dual chamber Intensive Acne Treatment Cream will have 2.5% benzyl peroxide to reduce the bacteria and breakouts on the skin. It also contains pomegranate and chamomile to hydrate your skin.
The dual-chamber allows the gel + cream to come together and activate as you mix them together on your fingertips. R+F recommends 1 to 2 pumps, however one is usually good. Be sure to tap the base of step 3 on a hard surface to get rid of any air bubbles in the chambers. I found that this quick 2 minute video explains everything perfectly.

Step 4: Mineral SPF 30 Soothe Sunscreen

Your Soothe SPF 30 sunscreen is mineral-based with zinc and titanium oxides. It will deflect the sun’s rays and keep your skin surface cooler. It will also help minimize the appearance of facial redness. It contains no fragrance or dyes or alcohol. It calms the skin with soothing licrorice and also acts as a skin conditioner. I also love that it’s non-greasy! I use it whenever I’m outside.

Here’s a few tips so ensure you get the best results using your regimen:

1)    Get rid of everything! If you’re normally using facewash or evening moisturizers at home – box them up and put everything away. Dr. Rodan and Dr Fields say it’s really important to ensure not to mix other products with their regimens as different ingredients from different products can mix together and cause adverse effects (increased redness, rashes, etc). So better to put it all aside and stick to your regimen.

2)    Regimen Basics: inside the package you’ll find a pamphlet that details how to introduce the product to your skin.  You will increase your use over 2 weeks. Remember to use it all over your face area (no spot or specific area treatments). Entire Regimen on entire face; always make sure you complete each step.

3)    The Purge! Your skin will go through a purge period (you might hate me a little – sorry!) J It’s going to pull up all the bacteria and bring all your acne/blemishes to the surface to be treated and targeted with the regimen. So it does get worse – before it gets better.

4) Gauze Pads (sold separately) cut them in half! Turn 120 into 240. They are almost 4-fold, so I’ve just cut mine in half and put them in my cosmetic bag.
*Gauze vs Cotton: The cotton absorbs more of your product (toner) which means you’ll end up using more product than you actually need. I recommend purchasing the gauze pads for regimens that contain toner so you don't waste product! 

5) Rodan and Fields suggests to try using white towels (or designated face towels) as the Intensive Cream may bleach or discolour your linens. I didn’t notice anything on my towels – but just a heads up! J

6) Go Naked- you’ll find as the weeks go by, you’ll end up wearing less make up because you’ll have less to cover up. R+F suggests going make up free as often as you can. I still wear make up to go out to big events but not nearly anywhere close as what I used to wear.
